90% Perfect

...and shared with the world always changes more lives than 100% perfect and stuck in your head.

- Jon Acuff, Quitter

How many 25-year-old college graduates do you know who have no idea what they're doing with their lives? Well, now you know one more.

Call this an experiment.

I'm calling it discipline.

Currently, I'm a little over a month away from a cross-country move, which naturally brings with it the opportunity for a lot of new. New job. New living situation. New community. But mostly, new chances to get better at some things I haven't been so great at. And one of those things for a long while has been discovering and doing things that I actually love. Things that fill me up, make me come alive, feel as though I'm living out an inescapable truth for my life.

So this is an exercise in recovering those loves.

One of them is writing. One of them is the culinary world. Another is artistic creativity and crafts. A relatively new one is self-care (i.e., primping).

So here is my opportunity to "do what [I] love with the life [I] already have" (another quote from Acuff- can you tell I'm digging this book?). Oh, and here's another one- "discipline begets discipline." So far this year, I've disciplined myself to complete a Whole30 as well as my first 5k, I feel like this is all part of Emily's Health Snowball of 2013.

Post one. So far, so good. I'm a champion.
